Ingredients for making semolina dhokla
You can make this delicious dish with very few ingredients. To make it, you need a paste of semolina, sugar, salt and green chillies. It is prepared from steam.
To make the mixture
- Besan – 200 gms (2 cups)
- Turmeric – 1/6 teaspoon (if you want)
- Salt – as per taste (less than 1 tsp)
- Green chili paste – 1 tsp (if you want)
- Ginger paste – 1 tsp
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp (2 medium sized lemon)
- Eno salt – a little less than 3/4 tsp
To chop
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Rye – half a teaspoon
- Green chili – 2 – 3 (cut into 2 pieces lengthwise)
- Salt – 1/4 tsp (as per taste)
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tsp (if you want)
- Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Method of preparation of Dhokla
Method of making Dhokla: Take 250 grams semolina in a separate bowl in equal quantity.
To make green batter, mix the food color (green) in semolina. To make saffron batter, add dark orange color and let the white batter remain the same.
Add whipped yogurt and half a teaspoon of salt to all the batter in a separate bowl and mix and keep all three cups covered for 10-15 minutes.
Cook Add water to it and heat it. Apply some oil in the container. Fill different color mixture in it and put it in the cooker. Keep the flame of gas light and do not whistle in the cooker. Cook it on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
After this, take it out of the container and keep it separate. Cool and with a knife, separate the dhokla from the edge.
Cut it into desired shape.
To apply Tadka, put 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, after the oil is heated, add mustard, after the mustard seeds reduce the gas and add curry leaves, sesame to the oil and fry it lightly. Fry chopped green chilies in length. Turn off the gas and pour this mixture over the dhokla.
How to serve Suji Dhokla
You can serve semolina dhokla with green chutney and green chillies.
