Regarding LG and iPhone, it was earlier being said that LG will now sell Apple’s phones, but now seeing the small shopkeepers, it has been decided that LG will not sell iPhone at its store.
LG has completely rejected the decision to sell the iPhone
South Korean tech giant LG recently suspended plans to sell Apple products like iPhones at its Korean retail outlets. Back in June, the South Korean company was reportedly in talks with Apple on a retail partnership. Now, however, those talks seem to have been temporarily terminated after some local backlash, reports AppleInsider.
SME Daily reports that LG ended the talks after a dispute between small and medium-sized retailers as well as users. There is apparently a ‘growing concern’ that LG’s Best Shop will suspend employee training for Apple sales.
The South Korean government has also emphasized competition, suggesting it is concerned about large retail partnerships threatening the livelihoods of smaller outlets in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Samsung is concerned about a possible collaboration between LG and Apple, which could threaten its leadership in the domestic market, the report said.
In April, LG announced that it would be exiting the mobile business. The company said in a regulatory filing that its mobile communications (MC) unit will no longer produce and sell handsets after July 31, citing slowdown in business and fierce competition in the industry as reasons behind the decision. .
Company to expand cloud based call center
LG will expand its cloud-based call center to provide better customer service and protect its employees from the novel coronavirus outbreak. The company has recently launched a cloud based call center in the US. Along with this, the company said that by the end of this year, cloud-based call centers will also be available in 10 more countries including Brazil, France, Vietnam and South Korea.
Cloud-based call centers allow employees to work from any location that is connected to the Internet, which will promote a work-from-home environment amid the pandemic. According to LG, its new system will help customers to communicate with LG call center employees faster.
Powered by Amazon Web Services and Genesis’ cloud solutions, LG said its call centers will also enable easy updates to new services such as chatbots.
