2021 has been very special for Shiba Inu, as it is the first year since the inception of this crypto coin, when this coin has achieved immense fame in terms of value. Its popularity is evidenced by the fact that Shiba Inu topped the list of the most popular cryptos of 2021 by global market tracker CoinMarketCap. This meme coin has overtaken the world’s most popular and oldest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, the second largest crypto coin Ether and the most popular meme currency Dogecoin. With a market capitalization of over $20 billion (approximately Rs 1,50,120 crore), SHIB is the thirteenth largest cryptocurrency in terms of valuation. In October this year, the SHIB token rose by over 216 percent within a week and reached its all-time high at that time trading at $0.000088 (approximately Rs.0.0066). At the time of writing this, each SHIB token was worth $0.00003823 (approximately Rs.0.0029).
In a “2021 Wrap Up” post, CoinMarketCap tweeted that Shiba Inu was followed by Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Cardano, and Ethereum in the second, third, fourth, and fifth places on the Popularity Index, respectively.
