In order to inculcate studying behavior amongst college students, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has established 125 libraries and 73 studying corners in its faculties. “The civic body has been establishing well-equipped libraries inside the school premises. In collaboration with NGOs Angelica Foundation, Room to Read and Katha, the SDMC’s education department has set up well-equipped and reader-friendly libraries in as many as 125 schools,” SDMC stated in an official assertion.
The SDMC runs 539 major faculties beneath its jurisdiction. The training division of the SDMC has arrange 56 libraries in faculties in its central zone, 39 in faculties in south zone and 30 in faculties within the west zone.
SDMC Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti stated “Setting up of “excellent” libraries would convey a couple of constructive change within the lives of kids by motivating them to learn good and inspirational books.
In these libraries, books can be found for college kids of all ages finding out within the SDMC faculties. Efforts are being made to open related libraries in Najafgarh zone faculties as effectively,” Gyanesh Bharti, commissioner, SDMC stated in an announcement.
