The Capital Market Regulator (SEBI) has invited applications for the internship program in its Department of Information Technology (IT department) on Monday. Under the program, interns will get an opportunity to work in Sebi’s data analysis and fintech. The market regulator has said in a notice issued in this regard that honorarium will also be given to 30 thousand rupees per month to such interns. Under the internship program, interns will be given the opportunity to work on various IT related projects. In this, apart from data analysis, regulatory business processes and reporting, the opportunity to work in the field of fintech will also be available.
The notice stated that in view of providing practical training to the students of educational institutions, SEBI has expressed its willingness to partner with them and accept up to 10 interns under the Sebi ITD Internship Program 2021. For this, SEBI has invited interest papers till 10 April 2021.
This internship program will be of at least one year. This period will include two semesters and a time / winter internship period or 3 semesters of three months and time / winter internship periods. Interns who do an internship for 3 days a week will get Rs 25000 a month and interns who do an internship 4 days a week will get Rs 30000 a month.
Internship Program Eligibility
This internship program can be attended by students from academic institutions who offer AICTE Recognized full time 2-year MBA or MCA or its equivalent degree / diploma. Such institutes should be valid either by the UGC or by any other commission established under any law of the Indian Parliament.
Talking about the eligibility of students, Candidate should be a 2 year full time MBA / MCA or equivalent degree / diploma student from eligible institute, full time graduate degree with minimum 60% marks in Engineering or BCA. In addition, candidates must have a good knowledge of computer programming and data analytics.
There should be a basic understanding of the financial market, although it is not mandatory. Apart from this, the candidate should have at least 60 per cent marks at the graduate level.
