The Calcutta High Court directed Paresh Chandra Adhikari, Minister of State for Education to look earlier than the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), over alleged appointment of his daughter as a trainer in Cooch Behar’s state government-aided college.
The order was handed on a petition by a candidate Babita Sarkar who claimed that she has been disadvantaged of the job regardless of having secured greater marks than the minister’s daughter within the trainer recruitment examination.
Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay directed the minister to look earlier than the CBI authorities in Kolkata by Tuesday night.
The minister is a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mekhliganj constituency in Cooch Behar.
The petitioner’s lawyer Firdous Shamim claimed that Sarkar had secured 77 marks within the examination whereas the minister’s daughter received 61, and that her identify didn’t determine within the benefit checklist, however had been given appointment as a trainer depriving the her.
Justice Gangopadhyay had earlier on 4 events ordered CBI inquiry in reference to alleged irregularities in appointments of instructing and non-teaching employees in state government-aided colleges.
