Himanta Biswa Sarma, chief minister, Assam has inaugurated six mannequin colleges to supply training services to the kids of tea backyard employees, whereas 90 extra began educational actions.
Sarma inaugurated the colleges at Ghagra, Ruvhg pajuli, Sonajuli, Thakurbari and Fulbari tea gardens in Sonitpur district.
The state authorities had earlier said that it will arrange 119 such colleges in tea backyard areas, and round 15,000 college students have been enrolled to this point. Eight academics have been appointed for every college.
“For the first time since Independence, schools have been set up in the tea gardens for the children of the garden workers and this will herald a new era of quality education for their children,” the chief minister mentioned.
Earlier, these kids studied in close by decrease main colleges and a majority of them dropped out in larger lessons, as they needed to journey a distance from the tea backyard areas the place their mother and father labored, he mentioned.
“These ‘Adarsh Vidyalayas’ will offer higher secondary courses from next year and in the next few years, we will set up colleges, covering three to four tea gardens. From 2023, these model schools will impart mathematics and science lessons in English, while social science will be taught in Assamese, which will be also taught as a language paper. This will enable the students to learn in their own language and also help them explore the world,” Sarma added.
Furthermore, the CM shared that the colleges will probably be named after distinguished personalities.
