Ethanol blending petrol: Currently, ethanol is mixed up to 8.5 percent in petrol. The government has set a target of 20 percent ethanol mixing in the next 2-3 years.
The demand for battery technology is going to increase significantly.
Ethanol blending petrol: Industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday that the government has set a target of 20 per cent ethanol blending by 2023-24, though the government aims to run on 100 per cent ethanol in the long term. Goyal said that the demand for battery technology is going to increase significantly in the coming days. There will be a lot of development in the renewable sector, due to which the battery industry will also grow.
Addressing the self-reliant India conference organized by CII, Piyush Goyal said that our aim is to become self-reliant in the field of renewable energy. We will develop such technology, with the help of which vehicles will run on 100% ethanol instead of petrol. It is an appeal to those who have electric car that they should recharge their car only with the help of solar energy or renewable energy. For this, the infrastructure of charging stations will be prepared on a large scale in future.
Renewable energy target of 175 GW by 2022
Goyal said that the renewable energy target has been set at 175 GW by 2022, while the renewable energy target is 450 GW by 2030. Let us inform that on the occasion of World Environment Day 2021 on June 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reduced the target of 20% ethanol mixing from 2030 to 2025.
Currently ethanol blending is 8.5%
Earlier the government had set a target of 10 percent ethanol blending by 2022 and 20 percent by 2030. Now this target has been shifted to five years ago. At present, about 8.5 percent ethanol is mixed in petrol in the country. In 2014 it was only between 1-1.5 per cent.
250% jump in renewable energy
India is very conscious about the use of renewable energy and it has grown by 250% in the last few years. India is among the five countries in the world where renewable energy is being used the most. India is also included in the top-10 countries in the Climate Change Performance Index. India has decided to take a step towards itself in the direction of economy and ecology.
