new Delhi: The market capitalization (market cap) of nine of the top 10 Sensex companies increased by Rs 1,91,434.41 crore last week. Reliance Industries, Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were the top gainers. In the list of top 10 companies, only ICICI Bank’s market valuation came down. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 1,216.49 points or 2.23 per cent.
The market capitalization of Reliance Industries rose by Rs 49,492.7 crore to Rs 16,22,543.06 crore during the week under review. The market capitalization of Infosys stood at Rs 7,66,447.27 crore, an increase of Rs 41,533.59 crore. Similarly, the market valuation of TCS rose by Rs 27,927.84 crore to Rs 13,31,917.43 crore and that of Bharti Airtel rose by Rs 22,956.67 crore to Rs 3,81,586.05 crore.

During the week, Hindustan Unilever’s market capitalization rose by Rs 17,610.19 crore to Rs 4,92,204.13 crore and that of HDFC Bank rose by Rs 16,853.02 crore to Rs 7,74,463.18 crore. The market valuation of State Bank of India (SBI) increased by Rs 7,541.3 crore to Rs 4,19,813.73 crore. The valuation of Bajaj Finance stood at Rs 4,00,014.04 crore with a profit of Rs 5,308.61 crore.
HDFC added Rs 2,210.49 crore during the week, taking its market capitalization to Rs 4,04,421.20 crore. Contrary to this trend, ICICI Bank’s market position declined by Rs 7,023.32 crore to Rs 4,71,047.52 crore. Reliance Industries retained the first position in the list of top 10 companies. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever Ltd., ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC, Bajaj Finance and Bharti Airtel respectively. (agency)
