This is how the helpline and its associated platforms work
>> Victims of cyber fraud call the helpline number 155260, which is operated by the police of the respective state.
>> The police operator answering the call writes down the details of the fraudulent transaction and basic personal information of the caller victim, and records this information as a ticket on the Citizens Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System.
>> These tickets are then rapidly delivered to the respective banks, wallets, merchants, etc., depending on whether they are the victim’s bank or the bank/wallet in which the fraudulent money has gone.
>> Then an SMS is sent to the victim containing the acknowledgment number of his complaint along with instructions to use this acknowledgment number to complete the fraud details within 24 hours from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (https://cybercrime .gov.in/).
>> Now the concerned bank, which can view this ticket on the dashboard of its reporting portal, checks this details in its internal system.
6. If the fraud money is still present, then the bank stops it, that is, the fraudster cannot withdraw that money. If that fraud money has gone to another bank, then that ticket is passed on to the next bank where the money has gone. This process is repeated until the money is saved from falling into the hands of the fraudsters.
These banks are included

These include – State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of Baroda (BOB), Bank of India, Union Bank, IndusInd, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis, Yes and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
