E-voucher platform can be launched for cashless vaccination. The government has given its responsibility to NPCI. In this, money will be deposited in the bank account of the hospital through voucher.

The government has asked the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to launch a platform for electronic vaccine vouchers. These vouchers will be like electronic prepaid instruments which can be used only for vaccination. Employers can buy these vouchers in bulk and these will be sent to the employee’s smartphone or feature phone. When the employee shares the voucher at the hospital for cashless vaccination, the hospital will get the money credited to his account immediately. According to sources, NPCI is in the process of shortlisting banks to issue these vouchers.
Banks will offer it as a payment service in partnership with technology service providers. Through this, a plan is being prepared to distribute vouchers to smartphones in the form of QR codes and as a code for feature phones. A single mobile can be used to issue vouchers for the entire family. Currently, private organizations that want to form alliances for immunization of their employees and families do so in camp mode. At present, the benefit of these vouchers is possible only if there is a large number of employees.
Benefits of Vaccine E-Voucher
1. Vaccine e-voucher will also help workers in the private sector.
2. Apart from this, this option is also effective when it comes to booking orders with vaccine manufacturers.
3. Hospitals will receive immediate payment through e-voucher in their bank account.
4. This platform will work similar to prepaid gift card solutions offered by certain entities including e-commerce companies.
Vaccine vouchers were earlier being used as a platform to develop vaccines, but can now be used for any kind of targeted direct benefit transfer. It will also eliminate the need for subsidies. With this, the providers will not face any problem in recovery of payment from the government.
