Caesar Sengupta, the voice president and general manager of the technology giant Google’s Payment and Next Billion User Initiative at Google, has resigned from his post today after 15 years. Caesar started working with Google from January 2006 and worked with Chrome OS and Google Pay. Caesar’s last day is April 30 and it is believed that he may start his work soon.
Caesar announced in his LinkedIn post to leave Google and also stated that his last day with the company was on April 30. Along with this, he also gave information about what mail he has sent to his cousins and team. You can read the mail written by Caesar below.
According to a company spokesperson, Sengupta during his tenure at Google played a leading role in launching and advancing initiatives such as Chrome OS, Next Billion Users and Google Pay. “After 15 years with Google, Caesar Sengupta has taken a personal decision to leave the company and start a venture outside Google,” the statement said. With this, the company has wished him all the best for the future.
Let me tell you that when Caesar started working with Google in 2006, he worked as Product Manager in Google Toolbar, Google Desktop and Payments. In 2009 he became the product lead of Chrome OS and later took over as voice president. In 2015, he started working as Vice President and General Manager for the Next Billion User Initiative. In 2018, he was given additional weight of payments. He has played an important role in creating Google Pay and also launched it in the US and Singapore last year.
