During the Corona epidemic, the Central Government had stopped the payment of DA and DR to the employees and pensioners. Today, in the meeting with the Finance Ministry, there will be a discussion on restoring it again.
DA may be decided today
The wait for the increased DA of 52 lakh central government employees and 60 lakh pensioners may end today. The National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) will have an important meeting with the Finance Ministry on Saturday regarding Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) stuck since last year due to Corona epidemic. In this, a decision can be taken regarding the payment of outstanding DA and its increase. This will increase the salary of employees and pensioners.
Under the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission), this meeting to be held regarding the increase in salary will be chaired by the Cabinet Secretary. According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary (Staff Side) of National Council of JCM in this regard, the final decision on the issue of DA will be taken after this meeting.
Stuck payment of 3 installments
During the Corona period, the Central Government had banned the payment of DA and DR. Due to which three installments of the increased salary to the central employees and pensioners were stuck. These include payment of January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021. According to the data of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), dearness allowance (DA) may increase by 4 percent. Last year, the Union Cabinet also agreed to increase this percentage. In such a situation, the total increase will be 28 percent including the previous payment.
