Toyota Sales Milestone: Veteran vehicle company Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has informed about the new milestone today (January 29). The company has informed that its premium hatchback Glanza and compact SUV Urban Cruiser have touched the milestone of cumulative wholesale of 1 lakh vehicles. These vehicles have been prepared by Toyota in collaboration with India’s largest company Maruti Suzuki India. For this, a partnership has been made between Toyota and Suzuki. Toyota’s Glanza is a cross-badged version with Maruti’s Baleno and the urban cruiser Vitara Brezza.

Glanza and Urban Cruiser sales figures
- Glanza was launched after June 2019 and since then more than 65 thousand vehicles have been sold.
- The Urban Cruiser entered the market in September 2020 during the Corona pandemic and has sold 35,000 units since then.

Toyota became the favorite of first time car buyers
Atul Sood, the company’s Associate Vice President (Sales and Strategic Marketing) on this milestone, has shown interest from car buyers for the Glanza and Urban Cruiser since its launch. According to Sood, both these cars have presented a great option to the youth who bought the first Toyota car in the early days of their career. In Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, 66 percent of first-time Toyota car buyers chose Glanza and Urban Cruiser. According to Sood, the company is rapidly expanding its footprint in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, which has increased the reach of people to the company’s cars and helped the company in attracting new customers. Toyota Kirloskar Motors has 418 dealer outlets across the country.
