Due to the Corona epidemic, many car manufacturers are facing problems. In such a situation, the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota is also getting affected. The company has recently stopped production at its Bidadi plant in India and has announced to run an annual maintenance program from 26 April to 14 May. The company is facing Corona not only in India but also in Canada and America and recently Toyota has closed its three plants due to supply issue in these two countries as well.
According to reports, the company had to shut down its Ontario-based plant because one of its suppliers, Toyotsu, had reported eight of its employees to be Covid-19 positive. Due to this, the suppliers had to stop their operation which also affected the Toyota plant.
After the employees came positive, Toyotsu, after giving information about it on social media, announced the closure of his plant. According to the supplier, Health Officers informed that 8 out of 1200 employees are positive. Most of these cases are not connected to on-site transmission. The company said that they are following the guidelines of health authorities and to avoid this, they are temporarily shutting down operations.
Toyotsu is the largest supplier to Toyota in Canada, the United States, Europe and parts of Asia. It supplies the components required for the company’s best selling model RAV4 SUV such as brake paddles, hood lock, radiator support, rear suspension etc. Apart from this, it also supplies components for Lexus RX 350 and RX 450h.
Toyota’s plants in Ontario, Canada and Texas have been affected due to the incident. Let us know that last week Toyota India has announced to stop its production at Bidadi plant in Karnataka.
