A pilot’s license will not be required to drive the Ultralight Variant (UVS) of this flying motorcycle – all training will be provided by JPA or Jetpack’s official training centers.
The Jetpack Aviation Flying Motorcycle can fly at a top speed of 150 mph.
At a time when flying cars are competing to meet the flying test and the time ahead for aerial motorcycles may not be too far away. Jetpack Aviation has recently completed the first flying test of its first prototype and is preparing to invite pre-launch orders.
The flying motorcycle, called the P1 and refined by the company as the Speeder. It is a prototype and is powered by a jet turbine. It is capable of vertical take-off and landing and the motorcycle has demonstrated its ability to move in the air during its testing in Southern California. The company further claims that the flying motorcycle can go up to a height of 15,000 feet but also admits that it does not expect its end customers to require such capabilities.
Flying motorcycle will be launched in two variants
According to Jetpack Aviation, the Speeder will have two ‘variants’ – one for entertainment purposes and the other for military and rescue operations. The company informs on its website that being completely stationary means that it will require at least pilot training to operate. Flying an entertainment speeder will be like riding a motorcycle but in the sky.
Jetpack Aviation also tells who can ride one of these bikes. A pilot’s license will not be required to drive the Ultralight Variant (UVS) of the motorcycle – all training will be provided by JPA or Jetpack’s official training centers.
Motorcycle can stay in the air for 30 minutes
It is also claimed about the speeder that it can fly at a top speed of 150 mph (about 241 kmph) and can stay in the air for about 30 minutes. The ultralight variant will be limited to 5 gallons of fuel and a flying speed of 60 mph.
The speeder will also be able to carry one pilot and one passenger, weighing around 105 kg. The company’s website is accepting pre-launch orders and the speeder has been priced above $380,000 (approximately Rs 28 lakh).
