A car flying in the air was a dream till now but now the aircar made the dream come true by flying it in the sky for 35 minutes and running on the roads. There are many such features of this vehicle that people are liking.
Flying Car Aircar
Flying cars have been a fantasy for many decades. A car that can fly in the skies along the road is interesting to think about but technically challenging. However, over the years, many companies have tried their hands on this technology and created innovative prototypes. Something similar has now been done through Aircar where it has completed its first inter-city test flight.
This was also the first time a flying car had completed an inter-city flight. The car took off on 28 June between two international airports in Nitra and Bratislava in Slovakia. The flying car took 35 minutes to cover the distance. Aircar said in a press release that after landing, at the click of a button, the plane turned into a sportscar in less than three minutes.
BMW engine installed in the car
The flying car comes with a 160 hp BMW engine and also gets a fixed propeller and a ballistic parachute. According to Aircar, the flying car is capable of flying up to 1,000 km at an altitude of 8,200 feet. It can fly at a speed of 170 kmph. So far it has flown 40 hours. In addition, during its test flights, the flying car has passed 45-degree sharp turns and stability and maneuverability tests. The company claims that it takes about two minutes and 15 seconds to fly and change from a car to a plane.
It will be easy to go from one city to another
Flying cars have been in the news for a long time. These vehicles are being considered as the future mode of commuting and inter-city transport as the roads are becoming more congested. Flying cars can help decongest the roads and also reduce travel time.
Ride-hailing services such as Uber have already announced that they are working on flying cars that will be used for commuting and inter-city transport in the future. This flying car based ride-hailing system is expected to bring a big change in the mobility industry in the near future. Among the established automakers, some OEMs like Hyundai are also working on flying car technology.
