Volvo Car India has informed that it has increased the ex-showroom prices of luxury sedan car S90 and premium SUVs – XC40, XC60 and XC90 from 3 May.

Volvo Car India said on Monday that it has increased the prices of its cars by up to two lakh rupees with immediate effect to partially compensate it in view of rising raw material costs.
The Swedish luxury carmaker said in a statement that it has raised the ex-showroom prices of its luxury sedan car S90 and premium SUVs – the XC40, XC60 and XC90 – from May 3. The prices of these models have been increased from one to two lakh rupees.
After the price hike, the S90 D4 encryption will now cost Rs 60.9 lakh, the XC40 T4 R design will cost Rs 41.25 lakh, the XC60 D5 encryption will cost Rs 60.9 lakh and the XC90 D5 encryption will cost Rs 88.9 lakh. All these are ex-showroom prices. However, the company said that the price of its recently introduced compact luxury sedan car S60 has not changed and it will still be available for Rs 45.9 lakh.
Jyoti Malhotra, managing director of Volvo Cars India, said that since 2018, Volvo has not increased its prices, rather more companies have been increasing their prices. The price of increasing components forced us to increase prices. However, he further said that in future, the company may have to increase its car prices further and if the prices rise.
