Param Sharma, 25, bought a new Tesla car and committed the same crime again a few days earlier. Now the ultimate prison is behind bars.
Param Sharma Tesla
In the US, an Indian-origin man was recently arrested for ‘alleged reckless driving’ while sitting on the back seat of a Tesla car on an autopilot. But despite getting lessons once, the person has repeated his move again.
Soon after his release, 25-year-old Param Sharma bought a new Tesla car and committed the same crime. This time, Param has repeated the mistake in the brand new Model 3 car. He followed the same method as he had done in the past as he vowed to continue the trick despite his recent arrest. Earlier this week, even before Param was caught inside another Tesla Model 3, he was photographed sitting in a car. During that time the car was on self-driving mode.
On talking, Param Sharma did not seem to regret his actions at all. He claims that driving on the back seat is not as dangerous as it used to be. He was found by a local news agency saying, “I feel safer here (on the back seat) than I do on the driver’s seat.”

Param claimed that he had already covered more than 40,000 kilometers in this manner on Tesla cars. After the arrest, he said, “This car is designed to ride on the back seat. I feel safer on the back seat than on the driver’s seat and I feel safer with my car on autopilot, I trust my car autopilot as much as I trust everyone.
The court had warned to be put in jail
Param Sharma is now facing jail once again with his new feat. He was charged with careless driving and disobeying a police officer for his earlier acts. However, he was left with a stern warning that if he repeats his mistake, he will be sent back behind bars. The court said, “Unless you are in the driver’s seat of your vehicle, you should not drive and if you do, we will put you back in jail.”
The recent incident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol, which is also investigating the fatal crash of another Tesla car on May 5, which was allegedly on autopilot mode. Obviously, questions are being raised on Tesla’s autopilot mode, whether they are safe because there have been accidents with this autopilot mode many times.
