After this, Tesla now has approval for the launch of seven vehicles for India. However, the company has not yet shared information about which models are included in these. Let us tell you, in the last few months, Tesla Model Y and Model 3 have been seen running on the Indian roads. From this it can be inferred to a great extent that the company is planning to launch Model Y and Model 3 electric cars in India.
For those who do not know, let us tell you that homologation certification is obtained for a particular model only when that model proves to be roadworthy and passes all the rules set by the government. Homologation of vehicles in India requires the approval of the Ministry of Shipping, Road and Transport and Highways.
As we mentioned, the company has not yet revealed the timeline for the launch of its electric cars. Apart from this, it is not yet clear which model Tesla is going to introduce in India. The Model Y and Model 3 have been spotted testing in the last few months.
The Tesla Model Y AWD comes with a dual motor and the company claims that the car is capable of accelerating from 0-96 kmph in just 4.8 seconds. The car has a top speed of 217 kmph and can travel 525 kms on a single charge. The car is fitted with multiple cameras on each side, which show live footage of the surrounding (360 degrees) to the infotainment system. It has 12 ultrasonic sensors, which detect nearby vehicles and work to protect the car from collision. These sensors also help the driver in parking.<!–
