Skoda Kushaq, a 5-seater compact SUV launched in India on 28 June 2021, has been well-liked. Skoda claims that the booking numbers have been in line with their expectations. The production of this rival from Hyundai Creta and Seltos has also been sped up to avoid the long waiting period.
The first batch of Skoda Kushak SUVs has started being delivered across India. Buyers can book the order with an initial payment of Rs 35,000 on the company’s 100+ showrooms located in 85 cities across India or on the company’s website. The Skoda Kushak price ranges from Rs 10.50 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh. The automatic variant costs Rs 14.19 lakh while the 1.5 liter TSI costs Rs 16.19 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
The Skoda Kushaq is being offered in three variants – Active, Ambition and Style. Top of the line, Monte Carlo trim is also being planned though no launch date has been revealed yet. It also gets 5 color options of Honey Orange, Tornado Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel. Based on what the company calls ‘Simply Cleaver’ solutions, the Skoda Kushak SUV is based on Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 IN platform.
The SUV gets well designed exteriors. It gets slim headlamps, LED DRLs, trapezoidal fog lamps and a large front butterfly grille wrapped around LED tail lamps. It gets front bumper, skid plates and roof rails with flared wheel arches which add to its sporty appeal.
The interior of the Skoda Kushaq is stunning
The Skoda Kushaq gets a segment best wheelbase of 2,651mm but the luggage space is limited to 385 liters. The Kushaq comes with 16/17 inch wheels depending on the variant. The interiors of the Kushak are filled with comfort for the driver and the passenger. Security features are loaded from the base Active trim itself. The interiors get ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, ambient lighting and climate control. It also gets 2-spoke steering wheel, Wi-Fi connectivity and wireless charging.
The base Active variant gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system while the top 2 trims see a 10-inch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
6 airbags available in all variants
Starting with the base variant, safety equipment includes multi-collision braking, electronic differential lock, anti-slip regulation, brake disc wiping, roll over mitigation, dual airbags, stability control, ABS and EBD. All variants get 6 airbags, rear parking camera, auto headlamps, tire pressure monitoring system and hill start assist as standard.
The Kushak comes with a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines. The 1.0 liter unit makes 113 hp power and 178 Nm torque which is mated to 6 speed manual and 6 speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre TSI engine makes 148 hp power and 250 Nm torque when paired with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG unit along with paddle shifters.
