Eicher Motors, the parent company of Royal Enfield, is working on a full range of electric bikes for the customers in various markets. The company plans to continue working on the electric vehicle model as well as its internal combustion engine offering. Royal Enfield currently sells models including Classic, Bullet, Himalayan, Interceptor INT 650, Continental GT 650 and Meteor 350 in the country.
Eicher Motors is doing everything possible in the electric vehicle segment. After the policy action, there is a stir in the EV segment. Focusing on the future, the company is working on further electric vehicle products here. The company can leverage its capabilities in product development and manufacturing with its strong brand presence and wide distribution network, he added. We are leveraging this with our deep understanding of consumers to develop a full range of premium electric vehicles and services for global markets.
Lal further mentioned in the annual report that Eicher Motors aims to develop a comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) vision, and electrification is a part of it. The company has improved its energy consumption and waste management system. Its two manufacturing units have been certified water positive, while the company is continuously working to increase its renewable energy component as well.
The company plans to align its strategies with the global call for action against climate change and support the automobile sector to transition towards a low carbon economy. Lal also said that Eicher Motors aims to build trust and make a positive impact on its manufacturing units as well as its entire product value chain.
