Ola Electric S1, S1 Pro India Launch: On the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day, Ola Electric has launched its first two electric scooters S1 and S1 Pro. The ex-showroom price of S1 is Rs 99,999, while the S1 Pro can be purchased for Rs 1,29,999. Both the scooters will be available for purchase from 8 September and deliveries will start in the month of October. Customers will be able to buy the scooters at an EMI of Rs 2,999 per month. The S1 will cost Rs 79,999 in Gujarat, due to the huge subsidy on electric vehicles.
Talking about the design of the S1 scooter, there are two circular projector units in the LED headlamps at the front. Overall, the scooter has a slim footprint. It is 1,859mm in length, 712mm in width and 1,160mm in height. Customers will get a chance to choose from ten different color options. The instrument cluster on the S1 is a 7.0-inch touchscreen unit that houses Ola’s Move OS. The OS is accompanied by an octa-core CPU and 3GB of RAM. Connectivity options include 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth. The way information is displayed on the screen can be customized using a feature called Moods. Users can also give voice commands to the S1.

One interesting thing about the S1 is that it doesn’t require a key. It senses the person approaching the scooter and locks or unlocks accordingly. One can start the scooter using the mobile app or the touchscreen display.
There is also a slight difference in terms of range and performance in both the variants. The S1 has a top speed of 90 kmph and a range of 112 kms. Its power output is 8.5kW and it can go from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.6 seconds. The top speed and range of the S1 Pro can go up to 115 kmph and 181 kms respectively. There are three riding modes available in the S1 Pro – Normal, Sport and Hyper. However, only Normal and Sport modes are available in the S1. The S1 Pro packs a 3.9kWh battery, while the regular S1 packs a 2.9kWh battery.

The scooter supports fast charging, through which you can charge 50 percent in just 18 minutes. This gives the scooter a range of 75 kms. If you use a 750W portable charger, the S1 can be fully charged in four hours and 48 minutes. Whereas S1 Pro gets charged in six and a half hours.
