Bird Es1+ Electric Scooter
At last year’s Auto Expo, the consumers saw glimpses of the upcoming electric vehicles, especially in the two-wheeler segment. But out of all these, only a few were launched by the automakers. There were many new startup companies here who wanted to make a place in the Indian automotive industry. One of them was Bird Electric Mobility Private Limited. The Bird Group showed its electric lightweight scooter ES1 + during this time. Although there was no update of this scooter since that time, but now this company has announced that it is preparing to launch its ES1 + E scooter at a price of Rs 50,000.
If this happens, it will be the cheapest electric two wheeler in the country. The company has signed a MoU in the new update. The MoU is signed with Australian e-mobility firm VMoto in which the company will get exclusive sales and marketing rights in VMoto. VMoto already retails the electric two wheeler under SuperSoco which includes TSX, TS, CPx, CUx and others. The company may soon launch its entry level, which is the CUMini E scooter.
According to the MoU, Bird Mobility will buy 20 sample units. These units will be tested in New Delhi under a ride sharing project funded by the Government of India. Scooters can be rebranded in India. If we talk about ES1 +, then the company can launch it in the name of CUx e scooter. It was said at the Auto Expo that this bike is being assembled at the Bird Electric Plant in Manesar.
Design and features
The ES1 + can get sharp LED handlamps and LCD instrument cluster and premium set off switch gear. In this, you will get a split seat layout and LED taillight. Talking about Specs, customers can get 3Ah Lithium Ion Battery Pack in it which will come with 1.6kW electric motor. The range of e-scooter is 55 km where you will get top speed 45 km.
This electric scooter will be given 12-inch alloy wheels. Its weight here will be 62 kg. In terms of hardware, telescopic forks will be provided at the front and twin spring shock absorbers at the rear. The scooter can be launched in the mid 2021 year.
