If you have a 15-year-old car or any other vehicle, then now you will have to pay more money for such a vehicle during the RC Renewal. The government has issued the Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2021, which will be implemented from October 1 this year.
The Ministry of Roads and Transport has issued a draft notification on how expensive it will be to keep an old vehicle at the end of this year. This notification is a part of the vehicle scapage policy issued by the government. It has been said in this scrap policy that it is mandatory to get a passenger test older than 20 years and a commercial vehicle older than 15 years.
According to the notification, the owner will have to pay Rs 5000 for the RC Renewal of the car. At the same time, the bike owner will have to pay 1000 rupees instead of the current 300 rupees. The worst condition in this is that of the owners of the bus and truck, in which they will have to pay 21 times more for the fitness renewal certificate of the 15-year-old bus or truck. After the new rule comes, they will have to pay 12,500 rupees for the renovation.
These changes are being made under the scraping policy and according to this proposal, a penalty of 300 to 500 rupees per month will have to be paid if there is a delay in the renovation. Apart from this, there will be a fine of Rs 50 per day for commercial vehicles.
Talking about the registration rate, it has been kept at 300 rupees for the bike and the renewal rate has been reduced to 1000 rupees. The same has been done with a three-wheeler in which the registration rate is Rs 600 and the renewal rate is Rs 2500. At the same time, if you talk about the registration of imported vehicles, then its price is Rs 5000 but its renewal fee has been asked to be Rs 40000.
Talking about commercial vehicles, the charge for a new fitness certificate for a motorcycle will be Rs 500, while the price of a Renewal will be Rs 1000. On the other hand, if you talk about three-wheelers, then a new certificate will be available for 1000 rupees, while for its renovation, 3500 rupees will have to be paid.
At the same time, if you talk about taxi and cab, then its fitness certificate will be available for 1000 rupees. At the same time, its renewal certificate will be Rs 7000. The new fitness certificate for medium goods and passenger vehicle will be Rs 1300 while its renewal will be Rs 10000. Similar is the case with the bus and truck where the new fitness certificate will be Rs 1500 and its renewal cost will be Rs 12500.
