Crete Russia
Korean auto giant Hyundai has launched the new generation Creta for the Russian market. This has been done when the second generation version has made its global debut after two years. You will notice that the new-gen Creta for Russia looks a bit different from the India-spec variant and this is because the model has undergone cosmetic changes that better differentiate it from the model on sale in other countries.
Production of the new-gen Creta in Russia will begin from July 1, 2021, and the launch is scheduled for later this year. The Russian-spec Hyundai Creta looks similar but gets a sharper grille, redesigned bumper and sharp creases that make the vehicle look bigger. The profile has not been changed while the tailgate has been revised. However, the split LED setup has been retained. Somehow, an attempt has been made to make the new-gen Creta look better for Russia than the Indian version.
Features
The cabin however, remains the same as the India-spec model and has been made in a dual-tone black and brown color scheme. The vehicle gets 7-inch digital instrument console, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, BlueLink connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. At the same time, it comes with climate control, panoramic sunroof, heated seats and multi-drive mode. The 10.25-inch infotainment screen is available as an optional feature on the SUV.
engine
It comes with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engines. While the first gives 119bhp power, the second 148bhp. Both are offered with 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic and AWD option. The model will be assembled locally at the Hyundai Motor manufacturing plant in St. Petersburg. Meanwhile, Hyundai is already working on the Creta facelift, which is likely to arrive in China next year. India will get the model by 2023.
