The Mercedes-Benz C-Class LWB gets a 1.5-liter petrol generating 168bhp power as a base engine option. Know what is more special in this …
Mercedes Benz C Class Lwb
Mercedes-Benz has recently launched new wheelbase variants of the C-Class for the Chinese market at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show. As the LWB variant usually comes with special skills, the vehicle is 131 mm longer than the standard C-Class which is currently on sale in India. This model also has a longer wheelbase which is given more space on the inside.
However, there is still no confirmation whether this special C-class car will be launched in India or not. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz’s E-Class LWB is expected to be launched in India. The C-Class LWB has a length of 4,882 mm in terms of a strong body, making it 131 mm longer than the previous C-Class, while the wheelbase is longer than 89 mm.
These two cars look almost identical, unless you see them in profile, where the rear door and L-badging on the C-Pillar make the LWB different. The LWB will get a slightly different grille design, as well as a hood for the top model.
What is special in LWB model
From the cockpit and the passenger seat, it is difficult to find anything that sets the LWB apart from the standard car. However, when you look at the second row of the car, you will find that there is a lot of space in the car and its seats are much better (in terms of design and comfortable). The LWB C-Class gets better sound damping and optimized suspension that potentially focuses on passenger comfort.
In China, the C 200 L gets a 1.5-liter petrol generating 168bhp power as a base engine option, while the C 260 L gets a 1,5-liter 201bhp power with a mild-hybrid system. Both engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
How long will the entry be in the Indian market
For the Indian market, as we have mentioned earlier, no confirmation has been made yet. However, with the sale of the 3 Series Gran Limousine already in India, it could prove to be a great and lucrative vehicle for Mercedes-Benz India.
