The Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2021 has been built on the brand’s Heartect platform. At the same time, it will be launched in the coming months. But after seeing the first pictures, this vehicle looks bigger than before.
Celerio’s first look out
Maruti Suzuki has been working on the new generation Celerio for a long time. After several sightings of its prototype, the first pictures of the new Celerio have been revealed. It looks very colorful. At the same time, the car also looks very wide. The carmaker has built this vehicle on the Heartect platform.
It is clearly visible in the leaked pictures that the 2021 Celerio has been given a new front fascia which comes with thinner front grille. It holds the single chrome slay that goes straight to the headlight cluster and misses the daytime running lights. The front bumper gets black inserts that come with the circular housing. It has been given for fog lamps.
The profile has been kept quite simple on the side. The wheel arches and strong stance given in the vehicle give it the look of a powerful hatchback. The rear of the new Celerio is simple and clean with wraparound tail lamps, rear wipers and bumper-mounted number plate slots and reflectors. Overall, it looks quite modern as compared to the outgoing model.
The interior details of the production spec model have not been revealed. But it is expected that a new steering wheel design will be given in it. At the same time, you will also get a big multi info display which will be for the instrument cluster. Apart from this, you will also get a touchscreen infotainment system which will come with connectivity features.
The new Celerio will come with the same 1.0-litre K10B petrol engine that generates 67bhp and 90Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and an AMT unit. The company is also planning to bring the CNG engine of WagR here which will be the 1.2-litre K12M engine. It generates 82bhp and 113Nm torque. The alternatives to the Maruti Suzuki Celerio are the Hyundai Santro and the Renault Kwid.
