Maruti Alto has recently crossed the sales figure of 4 million units, with the company stating that it was the first car for 70 per cent of its customers. For the last 16 years, it has remained the best-selling car of the company and has been ruling the market for more than a decade.
Maruti Alto was first introduced in the Indian market in the year 2000 and crossed the 1 million sales mark in just 8 years of arrival. After that, he had crossed the next one million mark in just four years, then the next year four years later, in 2016 he crossed the 30 lakh mark.

The Maruti Alto was the first entry-level car that was introduced in the BS6 avatar and the company’s second BS6 car. Maruti Alto was introduced in the BS6 avatar in 2019 last year and sales have improved since then.
Maruti Alto sold 1.50 lakh cars in 2019. The company believes that Alto is fulfilling the dreams of millions of Indians to buy cars. Maruti Alto is currently available at a starting price of Rs 3 lakh and its maximum price is Rs 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Alto is available in Standard, LXi and VXi, along with petrol and CNG options. Its petrol variant offers a mileage of 22.05 km / liter and CNG variant 31.56 km / liter.
Maruti Alto is currently available with a 799 cc petrol engine, this engine provides 47 bhp of power and 69 newton meter of torque. It has a 5 speed manual and automatic gearbox. The CNG version provides 40 bhp power and 60 newton meter torque.
