The Mahindra XUV700 which we have known as the W601 for a long time has been spotted testing again near Pune. We are seeing more leaked pictures of the upcoming SUV online as it approaches its launch timeline. Though the test mule is still hidden, the latest image shows us what the rear of the car will look like.
As seen in the images, the XUV700 can be seen in detail and we also get a clear look at the wraparound taillights, which feature split motifs and a bold piano is attached to the black bar. The all-new Mahindra XUV700 is built on the company’s new W601 SUV platform and is expected to come with an upmarket design and styling as well as a host of smart creature comforts. The company claims that the SUV will come with all the latest world-class safety features.
Based on the past few leaked images that we have seen so far, the new XUV700 will come with features like new grille, LED headlamps with LED DRLs, new flush-fitting door handles, new LED taillamps and sportier alloy wheels. On the inside, it will get features like – a large single unit section that will include both the touchscreen infotainment system and the instrument panel, similar to what we saw on the Kia Seltos.
Safety features will be strong
The cabin is finished in a stitched faux leather insert and comes in a dual-tone black and beige combination. It will get an optional electronic parking brake and at least 6 airbags with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mount, all 4 disc brakes and more.
The car will come in both petrol and diesel variants
The upcoming Mahindra XUV700 will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, with manual and automatic transmission options and an optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Engine specifications are yet to be announced, but we believe it will get a more powerful variant of the new 2.2-litre diesel engine along with the 2.0-litre petrol engine offered with the new Thar. The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to go on sale later this year and has already been listed on the company’s website.
