LML was the first known name in the two-wheeler industry of India. The company is all set to make a comeback in the Indian market through electric scooters and the partnership with Saera Electric Auto shows that the company has made up its mind to launch its EV in competition with companies like Ola and Ather. The company is aiming to become a fully ‘Made in India’ company by 2025 through this partnership.
Yogesh Bhatia, CEO, LML, said in a statement to the press, “We are trying to reduce the import requirements of the vehicle manufacturers. Electric vehicles are the need of the hour and need a strong infrastructure across the world including India. This is what we are working on. Our partnership with Saera Electric Auto will set new benchmarks in EV manufacturing in the country and match India’s manufacturing global standards.”
The electric two wheeler market in India is increasing day by day. New players have also entered the electric scooter segment along with many giants already in the country. In such a situation, it is not surprising for LML to enter the EV space. But companies like Ola and Ather have already launched their affordable electric two-wheelers in this segment. Now it has to be seen that which strategy LML adopts so that it can beat the already established companies in the market in this segment or not. LML was established in 1979. In the olden times, this company had a special identity in India.
