Kia Sonet pre-booking in India starts August 20, 55 connected features

Kia Motors India is going to start pre-booking of its new AUV sonet from August 20. The company announced this on Wednesday. Pre-booking of the vehicle can be done at the dealership or online at the Motors’ official website www.kia.com/in, in a token amount of Rs 25,000, which is present in the country. The company said in a statement that Sonet is an India-centric product, like Celtos, which will also be made available in global markets.

Production happening in India

According to the company, this vehicle is being manufactured in India. It is first being offered to Indian customers, after which it will be exported to 70 markets including Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Asia.

The company said that this SUV has been manufactured in the State of Art Production Facility, which is located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The company said in a statement that this is the new chapter for the motors and growing compact SUV segment in India. The prices of Sonnet variants will be announced soon.

According to the company, it will provide a completely paperless and contactless digital platform to enable customers to buy the car to provide a safe and hassle-free experience. The company said that Kiya started this feature only after starting his retail business in August 2019.

Features and Engine Specifications

Explain that the first in-segment in Sonnet will be the 10.25 inch HD touchscreen Hitech Infotainment System. Apart from this, there will be features like Bose 7 speaker system, electric sunroof, front ventilated seats, front parking sensors, smart pure air purifier with virus protection.

Kiya Sonnet will be equipped with 55 connected features. Its connected features can be accessed with the help of smartphones and smartwatches. For this, UVO connected technology will be available in the car.

Apart from this, two petrol engine options in the Sonet will be 1.2 liter and 1.0 liter turbo GDI. The diesel engine option will be a 1.5-liter turbo. Transmission options will be 5 speed manual, 6 speed manual, 6 speed automatic and 7 speed DCT. Also, 6-speed IMT transmission technology will be available. Intelligent manual transmission (IMT) provides clutchless gear shifting with the control of manual shift lever. A 6-speed automatic transmission will be available with the diesel engine, which is a first in class feature.
