Hero MotoCorp’s two-wheeler sales declined 12.6 percent in July. In July, the company has sold a total of 4,54,398 two-wheelers. With this, during the month of July last year, the company had sold 5,20,104 two-wheelers. The company said in a press release that most of the company’s retail touch-points are functional across the country. However, some states have imposed regional lockdowns in view of the increasing cases of corona virus, which has affected movement.
But Hero MotoCorp is very optimistic and said that India’s rural economy and semi-urban market is expected to recover on good monsoon and customers’ personal transport expectations.
Exports of two wheelers increased
If we look at the figures, Hero MotoCorp sold 4,24,126 motorcycles in July. The company had sold 4,84,260 units during the same period last year i.e. July 2020. The company sold 30,272 scooters last month. With this, the company sold 5,12,541 scooters during the same month last year. The company’s two-wheeler exports have increased. The company dispatched 25,190 units in July. In July 2020, this number stood at only 7,563 units.

Hero MotoCorp said it is monitoring the ground situation and remains positive on the steadily improving consumer sentiment in the coming months with the onset of the festive season. Beginning in the second quarter, Hero MotoCorp strengthened its 125cc segment with the launch of two new products – the Glamor Xtec and the new Maestro Edge 125 scooter. Apart from this, Hero MotoCorp has also announced to support the 50-bed COVID-19 ward and ICU at Janakpuri Super Specialty Hospital in New Delhi.
