February 21 proved to be a good month for the Indian two-wheeler industry as most bike makers were able to register positive growth in the last month. Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor succeeded in retaining its dominance in the industry as it reported sales of 2,47,422 units last month which is 14% higher than the units sold in the same month last year. Earlier, Hero had sold 2,15,196 units in February 2020.
At number two in the list is another Hero motorcycle – HF Deluxe which managed to find 1,26,309 buyers last month. Compared to February 20, HF Deluxe sales have fallen by almost 28%. The third place in the list is taken by Honda CB Shine motorcycle which is quite popular in the premium commuter segment. The company was successful in selling 1,15,970 units of CB Shine in the country last month, which is significantly higher than the 50,825 units sold in the same period of 2020.
In fourth place is Bajaj Pulsar which has sold 81,454 units in the last month. The Pune-based bike manufacturer has succeeded in increasing sales significantly as the company sold 75,669 units of the Pulsar bike in the same month a year ago. After the Pulsar, the Platina entry-level commuter sits in 46,264 units. This is 36 percent more than the 33,799 units sold in February 2020.
The sixth place Royal Enfield Classic 350 has achieved sales of 36,025 units, followed by Hero Passion at number 7 with 34,417 units. Next on the list is TVS Apache which has sold 31,735 units, while the ninth and tenth position has been taken by Hero Glamor and Honda Unicorn, which have sold 27,375 and 22,281 units.
