The country’s two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has informed on Thursday that it has launched the ‘Overseas Business’ vertical under the ‘Making in India for the World’ initiative, which allows two-wheeler vehicles to be launched in other countries. To be exported.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said in a statement that the new unit will utilize the capabilities of more than 100 associates to make the company a global hub for exports of two-wheelers. The unit, located at Honda’s Manesar plant, will integrate sales, engineering, development, procurement and quality functions in one place to create a global operating system.
Atsushi Ogata, managing director, president and chief operating officer of HMSI, said in a statement that Honda Two-Wheelers India aims to further strengthen its position in Honda’s global motorcycle business. According to the statement, HMSI started exporting in 2001 with its initial model Activa. In 2015, Honda’s gross exports crossed the historic 1 million mark in its 15th year of operations.
Currently Honda Two-Wheelers India now exports to 35 diverse markets across Europe, Central and Latin America, Middle East, South-East Asia, Japan and SAARC countries. The company has said that in many countries outside India, the Euro 5 emission norms are followed, which are similar to the BS6 emission norms operating in India.
The company will export Made in India 350cc bikes from India
HMSI is now going to export 350 cc bikes made in India to outside countries. Currently the company exports 19 of its two-wheeler models. Now Honda Highness CB350 and CB350 RS will also be included in it. Apart from this, Honda has also said that the CBR 650R will also be exported from India. However, this will be possible only when the company starts its production. The price of this bike is 11 lakh rupees, in such a situation, when the production starts in India, its price can be reduced in the country.
