If we talk about the entry level SUV segment, then India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has been involved in it for years. The company first introduced the Vitara Brezza in 2016. But in view of the increasing demand of the SUV segment in a few years, the company is preparing to introduce two new SUV models in India. They will compete with vehicles like Creta and Nexon.
The company will present one of these two SUVs in the mid-size segment and the other will be offered as an affordable SUV. According to media reports, their codenames are ‘YFG’ and ‘YTB’. According to the information, in both these cars, the company will use a petrol-electric hybrid system under the Mission Green project, which will help in giving better mileage to the car.
What will be special in this SUV of Maruti codenamed YFG
According to reports, it will be built on the Daitsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, which is a cheaper version of Toyota’s new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. Its design will be similar to the company’s best selling compact SUV Vitara Brezza and it can replace the S-Cross in the future.
What will be special in this SUV of Maruti codenamed YTB
This sub-four meter crossover SUV will be based on the Baleno and can be positioned as an affordable model of the Vitara Brezza. It can be given a vibrated coupe design, which will have a sloppy rear part. However, it is not yet known what kind of hybrid technology will be used in it. If reports are to be believed, 48V mild hybrid system can be used in it and its production can be done at Toyota’s plant in Karnataka. Although no official information has been received about these two vehicles as of now, then we will have to wait for that.
