Between 2025 and 2030, Fiat’s product line-up will gradually go electric-only. This is the biggest project of the company.
Electric Vehicle
The urge to launch electric cars and enter the electric vehicle game is not new for Fiat. This is the reason why it launched the Fiat 500e in the European markets, even though it was done amid the pandemic. But, who knew that the 500e was just the beginning and according to Olivier Francois, Fiat CEO and Stellantis CMO, it is a big plan.
Olivier Francois said, “We have an icon, an icon always has its reason and the 500 is no exception: in the 1950s, it opened up access to mobility for all. Nowadays, in this new scenario, it includes a new mission – our mission – to create sustainable mobility for all. It is our duty to bring electric cars in the market which cost no more than the internal combustion engine.”
The company will make only electric vehicles
“As soon as possible, in line with the falling cost of batteries, we are looking for an area of sustainable mobility for all: this is our biggest project,” he said. Between 2025 and 2030, our product line-up will gradually go electric only. This will be a radical change for Fiat.”
Work will be done in 28,000 plants
This means that more electric cars are coming from the brand Fiat and this is not the only change. Francois also said that “in the near future, just a few months from now, I am proud that we will see the traditional track at the former Lingotto factory in Turin being transformed into the largest hanging garden in Europe. More than 28,000 plants will be hosted during this period. A major, meaningful – and once again sustainable – project will be set to revitalize the city of Turin, our home.”
From Fiat’s perspective, the penetration of electric mobility will increase, as the roadblocks have been removed and thought it’s not yet a way out and told us very clearly what its EV plans are on a global scale, we A big announcement can be expected in the next few years.
