According to reports, booking has started at the dealership level. The booking price of Hyundai’s upcoming SUV Alcazar is Rs 50,000. Booking can be done through dealership and online mode. Hyundai plans to begin its delivery in June.
Hyundai is going to unveil the SUV globally on 6 April in 6-seat and 7-seat variants. The 6-seater variant will come with Captain seats in the Middle Row, while the 7-seater version will be available with the bench seats in the Middle Row. The SUV will be larger in length than the Creta in terms of seating, providing better comfort for the rear occupants.
Design and features
As far as design is concerned, there are LED day-time running lights projector headlamps on the front of the SUV. It also gets a new roof mounted spoiler with 17-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, twin exhaust at the rear, new-look LED taillights and more. Some designs of the vehicle have been taken from the Hyundai Global 7 seater SUV Palisade.
The SUV is expected to come with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Apart from these two options, a 1.4-liter turbo-charged petrol engine is also likely to be offered, which will come with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
Interior and price
It is expected to come with a large infotainment screen, a flat-bottom steering wheel, silver inserts on the dash and doors as well as plenty of storage space. Touchscreen media is expected to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from these, the SUV is also expected to have features such as multi-zone climate control, wireless charging, air purifiers, panoramic sunroofs.
It is expected that Hyundai will launch the Alcazar between 14 lakh and 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It can compensate for the gap between the Creta and the Tucson SUV. Upon launch, the Alcazar SUV will take on the MG Hector Plus, the Mahindra XUV500 and the newly launched Tata Safari.
