Pune: In the last few years, there has been a glut of private and illegal moneylenders. It is used by private moneylenders for recovery of loans with arbitrary interest. Many complaints are coming to the police regarding the recovery of interest from the moneylenders. Due to this, the Pune Police has started a helpline to stop private moneylenders. It is getting very good response. Out of 12 complaints received so far, FIR has been registered in 7 complaints.
In Pune city, private moneylenders give loans to people in financial trouble at the rate of 5 to 50 percent. After that these moneylenders exploit the borrowers financially by collecting interest in a pathan manner. If there is a delay in paying the interest money, then the family members of the borrower are also harassed. The borrowers have to face a lot of trouble in returning the loan taken and the interest. The complaint about the money received from the job and industry going into the pocket of the moneylender came to the ears of Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta. After this, he started cracking down on illegal moneylenders.

People helpline number 9145003100 has been made available by Pune Police to give information about money lenders. You can complain on WhatsApp starting on this number. Also this number was released on social media. After that more than 12 complaints have been received on this. The complaints received on the helpline are investigated through the Deputy Commissioner of Police. After that action is taken against the illegal money lenders.
A moneylender was arrested from Pune Rural
Out of the complaints received in the last month, 7 moneylenders have been booked and handcuffed. Action was taken against these moneylenders under section of Maharashtra Moneylender Act and section of Indian Penal Code. At the same time, a moneylender has been arrested within the limits of Pune Rural Police and has been given in the custody of Rural Police. Action is being started by the Anti-Ransom Squad of Crime Branch of Pune Police. The helpline provided for giving information about illegal moneylenders seems to be of benefit.
In the city, a campaign has been taken to take action against those who collect maximum interest from the common people by doing illegal moneylenders. A helpline number has been made available for this. Action is being taken against private moneylenders after investigating the complaints received on this number. This process will continue like this in future also.
