It is to be known that PM Modi was to address a rally in Hussainiwala, Ferozepur today. During this time he was to lay the foundation of many development projects. PM Modi had reached Bathinda airport in the afternoon. He was about to go to the rally venue by helicopter, but due to bad weather, it was decided to go by road. As soon as PM Modi’s convoy was 15 km before the scheduled rally, the protesters blocked the road, due to which the convoy had to stay on the road for 15-20 minutes. After this major lapse in PM’s security, PM’s possible rally was canceled and returned to Bathinda airport.
Union Home Ministry sought report
In this matter, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that, the Ministry of Home Affairs is taking cognizance of the matter of serious lapse in the security of the Prime Minister, a detailed report has been summoned from the Punjab Government. The Punjab government has been asked to fix accountability and take strict action for the lapse in the security of the Prime Minister.
Punjab government flouting the law
The Bharatiya Janata Party has blamed the Punjab government for the lapse in the Prime Minister’s convoy. BJP National President JP Nadda said, “The Congress Government of Punjab has made every effort to thwart the programs of the country’s successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in Punjab, fearing a crushing defeat at the hands of the people in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections. The security of the Prime Minister was played with.
He further said, “In doing so, the Congress government of Punjab did not even care that the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, had to pay tribute to the great son of the country, Sardar Bhagat Singh and other martyrs and lay the foundation stone of major development works in the state. Had to keep it.”
Chief Minister and Home Minister responsible
Politics has also intensified on this lapse in PM’s security. Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has blamed the present Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Home Minister Randhawa. In a tweet, the Captain said, “Law and order in Punjab has been completely destroyed and the Chief Minister and Home Minister are responsible for this. When you cannot provide smooth passage to the Prime Minister of the country and that too just 10 km away from the Pakistan border, you have no right to continue in office and you should step down!”
