News portal Bitcoin.com quoted Konjam board member Uros Kalinik as saying that the introduction of cryptocurrency payments is another indicator that Konjam is constantly monitoring global trends, introducing innovations and creating standards in the retail sector. A Croatian payments processor named Paycek will allow people to select crypto coins and make payments by scanning a QR code. Paycek will also offer a temporarily fixed exchange rate guarantee to the users to deal with the volatility of the crypto market.
In the initial stages, the crypto payment option will be limited to online purchases from Konjam. Later this feature will also be brought to retail purchases.
Konjam is not the first Croatian brand to add crypto payments to its services.
Earlier in September, Croatian e-bike company Grape Bikes also started allowing purchases of its products with the same nine cryptocurrencies that Konjam had permitted.
Not only this, 40 Tifon gas stations have started accepting cryptocurrency payments through Paycek this year.
Despite cryptocurrencies not being regulated, various brands are starting to accept crypto payments.
Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company Tesla and American movie hall chain AMC Theaters are among the companies accepting crypto payments in the US.
Crypto payments have been on the rise in various countries, including the US, since bitcoin was legalized in El Salvador in September this year.
