    Another trans prisoner has been given the inexperienced gentle to switch to a girls’s jail in Scotland, Sky News understands.

    The newest controversy follows double rapist Isla Bryson being faraway from an all-female jail close to Stirling this week after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was compelled to intervene within the row.

    “The idea that this violent individual may soon have access to scores of vulnerable women within our prison estate is truly repellent.

    “Women’s security should not take a backseat to the desires of violent criminals.

    “Nicola Sturgeon has already U-turned under public pressure to belatedly remove double rapist Isla Bryson from a women’s jail, she must now intervene to block the transfer of this violent individual before it takes place, or knowingly risk the safety of some of Scotland’s most vulnerable women.”

    Isla Bryson will now serve her sentence with male inmates

    The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) stated it doesn’t touch upon particular person instances, however confirmed it was drawing up recent proposals on coping with trans prisoners.

    An SPS spokesman stated: “We do not comment on individuals.

    “Decisions by the SPS as to probably the most acceptable location to accommodate transgender persons are made on an individualised foundation, knowledgeable by a multi-disciplinary evaluation of each danger and want.

    “Such decisions seek to protect both the wellbeing and rights of the individual as well as the welfare and rights of others around them, including staff, in order to achieve an outcome that balances risks and promotes the safety of all.

    “Where there are any issues about any dangers posed by a person, both to themselves or others, we retain the power to maintain them separate from the mainstream inhabitants till an agreed administration plan is in place.”

    A Scottish government spokesperson said: “The placement of prisoners is an operational matter for the Scottish Prison Service who use complete individualised danger assessments to tell choices, similar to the suitable location of transgender individuals in custody.

    “SPS is reviewing their policy on managing transgender prisoners in partnership with the Scottish government and that process is nearing completion.”
