Pakistan’s 19-year-old Shehroze Kashif on Tuesday became the youngest climber to reach the summit of K2 Mountain, the world’s second highest mountain. Kashif, a resident of Lahore, managed to climb to a height of 8,611 meters with the help of bottled oxygen. Karar Hydari of the Alpine Club of Pakistan said in a statement, “Good news. K2 Base Camp has confirmed Shahroj Kashif’s climb of 8611 meters K2. This is a new world record.
Karar Hydari said that Kashif, who reached the summit of K2 at the age of 19, has become the world’s oldest mountaineer. Before Kashif, Sajid Sadpara, son of famous mountaineer Mohammad Ali Sadpara, was the youngest person to climb K2 at the age of 20. Shahroj Kashif had earlier climbed Mount Everest. While talking to Geo News, his father Kashif Suleman confirmed that Shahroj Kashif successfully conquered K2 at 8:10 am on Tuesday and created a history.
Kashif had reached the base camp of Mount K2 on July 14.
Kashif Suleman said, Shahroj started climbing two weeks ago to climb K2 mountain. His father said the climbers reached the base camp on July 14 to scale the 8,611-metre peak. The Alpine Club of Pakistan tweeted that the Pakistani team has conquered Mount K2. Earlier on May 11, Shahroj Kashif made history when he became the youngest mountaineer to climb Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.
The fifth Pakistani to climb Mount Everest was
Kashif was the fifth Pakistani to summit Mount Everest and also won the title of world’s youngest mountaineer. According to sources, 19-year-old Kashif has already climbed Broad Peak, the world’s 12th highest mountain (8,051 metres). He climbed Mount Everest on May 11 at 5:05 am. Mount Everest with a height of 8,849 meters is the highest peak in the world.
