Nowadays all automakers are emphasizing on electric scooters. In such a situation, Suzuki is also working fast on the electric scooter and it is believed that the company can launch the Dhansu scooter soon. This has been revealed by the new patent image. The most important thing in this is that Suzuki is making this scooter on a very unique design. While its exterior design is similar to that of a regular vehicle, the biggest change is its internal mechanical layout which is quite challenging to process on its own.
In a conventional electric scooter, the engine and swingarm are usually mounted as a combined unit, if not, the electric motor is mounted on the hub of the rear wheel. This approach frees up space that can be used for accessories, or larger capacity batteries, if needed.
However, the new design, patented by Suzuki, connects the internals to the rear wheel with a chain drive. The drivetrain is housed in the under-seat section, while the rest of the electronic scooters have electronic speed controllers, along with the battery and transformer, mounted above the motor. It’s definitely a unique way to put it that way.
The patent also mentions a new layout to aid in overall cooling by using air through the inlet ducts, outlet and fan inside the body. However, complete information about how it works has not been revealed yet. Keeping the electric motor in the open will probably give similar results. More information about this is likely to come in the future.
If we talk about the launch, then no information has been received about it yet. Along with this, Suzuki Motorcycle India is also working on an electric version of the Burgman Street scooter. It is being said that it may be introduced in the future.
