India Rejects United Nations Help: A spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Gutarais said that India has rejected the offer of help provided by the United Nations through an integrated supply chain, and has said that the country has the necessary logistical support. There is a ‘strong system’ to deal with. In response to a question, UN General Secretary Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haque said, “We have offered assistance from our integrated supply chain when needed. Haque said that the UN Secretary-General’s chief secretary, Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti, is in touch with India’s permanent representative at the United Nations TS Thirumurthy and other officials associated with the system regarding the status of COVID-19 in India. Haque also said that the United Nations is making sure that its international and national personnel are safe in India so that the burden on India’s health system does not increase.
‘Fewer cases found in personnel’
He said, ‘Luckily there have been very few cases (of infection) in our personnel. In such a situation, we believe that we have succeeded in our endeavor and are making sure that we do not increase the pressure on the health system which is already facing the challenge. ‘ (India Rejects UN’s Help) Earlier, in a daily briefing on Tuesday, Haq said that in India, UN partners are helping authorities and communities to deal with the effects of the epidemic.
Health workers are being trained
