The ship was built at Harland & Wolf Shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It cost $ 7.5 million to prepare the Titanic, which currently stands at $ 192 million (about 14 billion rupees). The ship had 16 watertight compartments, which could be closed while the ship was flooded. In this way, this ship was designed thinking ahead of its time.
