Burglars raided the house of Jack Grealish because the Manchester City footballer was taking part in earlier this week, reportedly making off with £1m price of jewelry and watches.
The thieves focused the England star’s Cheshire mansion as he was in motion for the Premier League title holders at Everton’s Goodison Park in Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
Members of Grealish‘s household and his fiancee Sasha Atwood had been watching the televised match on the property once they heard a disturbance, The Sun newspaper reported.
The alarm was raised and an emergency response was launched, with a helicopter, police canines and various officers despatched to the property close to Knutsford. However, no suspects had been detected.
The newspaper stated the thieves made off with £1m price of jewelry and watches from the midfielder’s property.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Constabulary stated: “At around 9.50pm on Wednesday 27 December police were called to reports of a burglary.
“The caller reported that various objects had been stolen.
“Officers, supported by the police dogs and NPAS (National Police Air Service), were deployed and searches were conducted in the local area, but there was no trace of the suspects.”
