Now working only four and a half days a week in UAE

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), now only four and a half days of work will have to be done in a week. The remaining two and a half days will be a holiday. The new rule will come into effect from January 1, 2022. UAE is the first country which has decided to have only four and a half working days in a week to create work-life balance.

Decision taken to create work-life balance

According to the new schedule, from Monday to Thursday, people will work from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm, while on Friday, work will be done from 7.30 am to 12.30 pm. The UAE government’s media department said Saturday and Sunday would be a complete holiday. The weekend has been extended to increase the efficiency of the people and improve the work-life balance.

Will be more convenient in trading with America, Europe

The government has said that Friday prayers and debates will be held only after 1.15 pm. Employees have been given two and a half days off as well as flexible working hours and the option of work from home on Fridays. With this move of the government, working hours in UAE will now be closer to that of US, UK and other European countries. This will help in increasing its trade with these countries.

The new system would first apply to federal government organizations. After this it will be applicable in schools, colleges and private institutions. The governments of Dubai and Abu Dhabi have already announced a working week of four and a half days. With the new working hour, the UAE’s financial sector will be aligned with global real-time trading. With this, communication based transactions can be done at the same time. As a result, UAE organizations will be facilitated to work with the global stock market, banks and financial institutions.
