Priority digital payment for 31-40 year old women
According to the report, more than 75 percent of the retailers surveyed mentioned that women in the age group of 31 to 40 years were the most accomplished digitally. More than 58 percent of financial transactions were done digitally by women in this age group at their stores. Immediately after this comes the number in the age group of 20-30 years. Especially in urban and metro centers, about 25 percent of the women customers were in the age group of 20-30 years.
The report, titled ‘Women’s Digital Independence Index’, provides information about women’s financial transactions at retail outlets across the country. The company has prepared a report based on a survey conducted among more than 3,500 retail stores in the country, recording the financial transactions of women customers in retail outlets.

More than 76% of women manage their own accounts
According to the survey, cash is still the most preferred method for financial transactions. Nevertheless, 5-15 percent women of different age groups are using Aadhaar Pay, UPI and Debit Card. Cash withdrawal, mobile recharge and bill payment – these three services are used by most women customers at retail touch points. The transaction was mainly done by young working women in the age group of 31-40 years (45 percent) and 20-30 years (25 percent).
The report further states that more than 76 percent of the women have operated their own bank account, but they do so mainly for the purpose of cash withdrawal and cash deposit.
