Three folks have died after a hearth broke out at a lodge in Perth in Scotland.
Emergency crews have been known as to the blaze on the New County Hotel shortly after 5am on Monday.
Police Scotland stated three folks have been confirmed lifeless on the scene.
A lot of different folks have been handled for minor accidents by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Hotel friends and two folks from a neighbouring block of flats have been evacuated and are being supported, police stated.
Chief Superintendent Phil Davison stated: “Our thoughts are very much with the families and loved ones of those who have died at what is a very difficult time for everyone.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to determine the total circumstances of what has occurred and officers are conducting a joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it had sent nine vehicles to the scene.
Meanwhile, a Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We acquired a name from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 05.05hrs this morning (2 January) to attend a hearth on the New County Hotel, Perth.
“We dispatched 21 resources, including our Special Operations Team, and attended to 14 casualties.
“Eleven sufferers didn’t require hospitalisation, however sadly three sufferers died on the scene.
“Our thoughts remain with those who have been affected by this incident.”
A police cordon is in place and members of the general public are requested to keep away from the realm.
‘Lucky to get out alive’
One visitor on the lodge instructed Sky News that she felt “lucky to get out alive” after escaping the hearth.
The girl, who gave her identify as Barabara, stated that she and her husband had been staying in a room immediately above when the hearth broke out and so they have been woken by the sound of the alarms.
She stated: “We woke to the sounds of the alarms going off and just ran, we left everything we have in the room.
“As we reached the front door you could see burning embers falling to the ground. We ran through as quickly as we could, hoping that nothing would fall on us.
“We did not realise how shut we have been to the place the hearth began, actually we’re fortunate to get out alive.
“Once we were out on the street you could see how bad it really was, we just stood there and watched as people were carried out on stretchers and treated by the emergency services, the people on the second floor were in a particularly bad way.

Barbara recently returned to the UK with her husband after living abroad and checked into the New County Hotel on December 16 while they looked for a more permanent home in the area.
She added: “It’s so unhappy. It’s been a extremely traumatic day for us.”
‘Heartbreaking news’
Another witness who saw the fire told Sky News: “I dwell simply throughout the highway. I heard an alarm, glass shattering after which sirens so I ran outdoors to see what was occurring.”
He described it as an “terrible” incident.

Perth and Kinross Provost Xander McDade stated: “On behalf of all Councillors and staff our thoughts are with the family and friends of the three people who passed away following the fire at the New County Hotel in Perth this morning.
“This tragic incident is just not the way in which any of us would need to see 2023 start and I my heartfelt condolences go to everybody impacted by this hearth.”
Earlier, Perth and Kinross Council said roads in the areas had been closed “as a result of an ongoing incident”.
“Please keep away from the realm in the event you can,” the authority stated.
